One week, one picture

Let’s go back in time

I’m gonna be honest with you : I had no idea what to talk about for this “one week, one picture” post as basically I didn’t do anything particular. Just the usual routine : working and then spending all of my free time along the lake. I wasn’t gonna share another picture at the lake (even though, I’ve got 300 just from this past week haha). I still wanted to write in this series though. As I feel like it’s a challenge for myself : post at least once a week. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll never force myself to post anything if I don’t feel like it. “One week, one picture” series is more like a diary type of blog so words come easier I guess.

Usually for this series, I go through all the pictures I took during the week and choose the one which sums my week up. I thought for this one I could choose one I took a few months ago, almost years ago to be honest. I know, I know. The point of this series was to choose a picture I took during the week, not a few years ago. That was the “rule”. But guess what?! This is my blog, challenge and rules. So I can do whatever I want to, even bending the rules a little bit just for once haha. Anyway, here’s the picture I chose :

I took this picture in the Scottish Highlands in April 2017. Almost 2 years ago then. This was the first time I went to Scotland and I completely fell in love with this country. The nature, the mountains, the roads, the wild sheep, the changing weather, … I loved it all. I had never seen beauty like this.

I’ve got so many pictures of that trip but this one is one of my favourite. Just look at the shape of that road. Wild. Crazy. Insane. Dangerous. Adventurous. We were in a mini bus (16 places) and the driver struggled a bit to arrive on top. But we made it. It was so worth it.

Also, I made this trip with one of my best friend so this trip has got so many great memories. I remember us watching “13 reasons why” on my phone, in our bunk bed while eating ice creams after a day of exploring.

To stay in the “memories vibes” I wanted to share with you a little list of “old” songs that I still love. They remind me of my childhood. And I can’t help myslef but singing and dancing while listening to them. Clearly what I was doing on Sunday morning while cleaning & tidying up my bedroom…

Of course, I’ve got way more songs that I usually listen to when I’m in a session of “throwback songs” but I guess 10 is enough for this post. Were you listening to those songs when you were younger as well? If not, share the ones you loved (and still do!)

With love, Anaïs

  1. I love that about blogging – that nothing’s set in stone and we can make and bend the rules for our own posts. I love that it’s such a relaxed way of getting our words out there, and that’s why I started blogging in the first place 😊. Ahh that photo is so beautiful! I keep seeing amazing pictures of Scotland and now I really want to go haha. Yess I remember those songs, I love listening to throwbacks when I’m cleaning also! xx

  6. I’m thinking about a trip to Scotland but not sure about the best time of the year. Do you have any suggestions? I love beautiful scottish views!

    1. So I’ve been only twice and only for a few days each time! First time was in April 2017 then in October the same year. I know people say that the weather is always bad I’m Scotland but in my opinion it’s not true, it just changes quite quickly! I’m sure that anytime of the year, you’ll enjoy Scotland! This is such a wonderful country. I definitely recommend going into the Highlands, Applecross, Glencoe, Isle of Skye, .. 😍

Yes girl! We don’t have to feel bound by any rules because our blog is our own and no one can take that away from us 😊 Scotland looks so lovely, I’ll have to add that to my list of places to visit!😄 all those songs are so nostalgic! Especially Everytime We Touch 🤩🤩 I feel like I will have to go home and listen to that now!

  13. Even if it isn’t from this week, I love so much the mood and the whole idea of 1 picture per week, it can help to reorganize our perception about the entire week without let them pass away quickly.

  16. That’s such a lovely photo. I really want to go to the Scottish Highlands. How difficult did you find it to get to?

    1. You should definitely do it!!!
So I was living in Oxford at the time. We took a flight to Inverness and then from there we had 2 excursions with Rabbies (highly recommended!!) and the last day we hired a car so pretty easy to be honest x

  17. Still loving this series. Great photo. I forget how beautiful Scotland is, I live relatively close to it and really should try to visit more often! I’ve only been a few times in my life. Again great post. Keep it up. Xx
